H.E. Global President of URGC Sir, Chrysostomos Vassili
Message from the Global President of URGC
URGC is a Not For Profit-Non Governmental organisation led by its esteemed volunteers and humanitarians, known as URGC Ambassadors, who are well known and respected by Governments, UN, NGO's and Charities globally.
URGC Ambassadors are titled by the URGC as His or Her Excelency (H.E). H.E. is a title of Honor, having high respect and great esteem, the quality of knowing and doing what is morally right, of which URGC Ambassodors do and apply without any financial gain, focussing their acts as URGC Ambassaodors on moraility and virtuous acts to aid humanity. This is a formal title of honor used to refer to Ambassadors, and in this case it refers to all registered officials who are URGC Ambassadors of the URGC.
Sir Chrysostomos Vassili put together a group of people who shared the same ethos in trying to find realistic solutions to the global displacement of human population and reducing poverty, this was started and still remains on a voluntary, humanitarian and philanthrpropic basis, to help find realistic, viable, cost effective, sustainable and stable solutions in housing, sanitation, water, energy, agriculture, resolving food crisis/food-security and other issues faced by refugees/displaced people, this group was called the ''VASSILI GROUP'' which went on to form a voluntary, philanthropic and humanitarian global organization, known to all as the United Refugee Green Council (URGC).
Refugees are persons who are outside their country of origin for reasons of feared persecution, conflict, generalized violence, or other circumstances that have seriously disturbed public order and, as a result, require international protection, and this further includes economig refugees/migrants. URGC further extends its equal stance on helping those who are not refugees but are homeless and those who live in poverty, all of which equate to human suffering, which should not exist in our world of today.
The URGC was born from a humanitarian and voluntary group of people who formed themselves and called themselves the Vassili Group who were determined to apply realistic economical, practical, sustainable and stable solutions to help resolve issues of poverty and the suffering of refugees/displaced people and other groups, from the injustices and or life circumstances that have led to homelessness and poverty. It was realized and accepted that displacement, and refugees, is a global issue, URGC Ambassadors are true humanitarians who shared the same ethos as URGC came forth, requesting to be part of the URGC, to offer whatever free time they could donate in helping humanity, from which the URGC Ambassador was born, today the URGC has URGC Ambassadors in 176 countries who apply their own voluntary time, whether that time is only one day a year or every day of the year, all aiding humanity, applying their own expertise, professional services, without pay and to the best of their capacity, which includes simple acts of kindness to those most in need.
We have all witnessed refugees who have suffered horrific losses of their home, worldly belongings, physical abuses and loss of loved ones, most finding themselves at the mercy of aid relief in hosting countries, in hope of increasing their life chances. Within their hosting countries, many refugees are met with racism, prejudices, no legal rights, further human rights violations and many becoming victims to criminals and terrorists, which they endure on a daily basis. To reach the status of refugee, each person endures unimaginable suffering, and to reach a place of safety, and then continue to suffer is a greater injustice to humanity, which we are all compelled to act upon.
Equally there are those who are not classified as refugees who are homeless, and live in poverty, struggling to survive from day to day, which we also focus upon equally to refugees. Veterans, young people, families and other groups who have found themselves homeless, sleeping rough on the streets or from one shelter to another, unable to enter back into society and effecting local economies, thus straining vital social and economic resources which has an impact on the rest of society . You will see such people in every major city in the world, where we all walk past them on a daily basis, something that should not exist in any society.
We are focussed on helping increase life chances, quality of life, create jobs, reduce poverty and create social and socio-economic development which benefits society.
The URGC is proudly represented by its voluntary URGC Ambassadors in 176 countries who have a variety and wealth of expertise in their fields of proficiency, ranging from lawyers, accountants, ecologists, environmentalists, investors, bankers, economists, conservationist, financial consultants, architects, engineers, construction experts, water conservationists, sanitation, desalination, hygienists, green energy and green engineers, hydroponics, agricultural experts, social development experts, socioeconomic experts, sports and arts experts, physical educationists, coordinators, organizers, nurses, drug rehabilitation experts, psychiatrists, psychologists, mental health experts, trauma specialists, child trauma and psychologists, orphanage consultants, medical doctors, pharmacist, business people, humanitarians, security and protection experts, anti-terrorism consultant for protection of refugees, rape victims specialists, child protection experts, learning disabilities experts, human rights experts, aid relief experts, emergency response experts, age concern consultants, physical disabilities consultants, aid relief workers, reporters, manufacturers, existing ambassadors from other NGO agencies and diplomatic sectors, teachers, learning disabilities experts, academics, academies/universities, migration and refugee experts, lobbyist, UN workers, logistics experts, diplomats and many more experts in their fields of proficiency, who all contribute via their areas of proficiency towards realistic sustainable economic green solutions that better benefit those most vulnerable and cut costs to hosting governments and aid relief agencies. with the sole aim to reduce suffering and apply sustainable green solutions towards resettlement programs to reduce refugee numbers.
Despite the variety of proficient expert backgrounds and titles of all URGC Ambassadors, they are all united equally as humanitarians and philanthropist, all trying to individually play a part in aiding humanity independently and within their own time, capacity, and expense.
The world has had over seven decades of ongoing aid to refugees and other displaced people by governments and aid relief agencies, the numbers of refugees increase annually. URGC aims to combat this and assist in the reduction of refugees globally and this applies the same for non-refugees who live in poverty and are homeless and many displaced. We have today more refugees, poverty and homelessness than ever before, and despite our modern times, poverty, homelessness, suffering and increases.
Lowering Crime - The United Nations (UN) highlights that migration itself does not cause crime, but irregular migration and the vulnerabilities of migrants and refugees make them susceptible to becoming victims of crime, particularly human trafficking and smuggling. The UN Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) reports on the extreme violence migrants face from traffickers, while UNHCR and IOM data shows that people are driven to dangerous journeys by conflict and scarcity, becoming targets of exploitation and facing xenophobia in destination countries. This does not exclude local populations who are homeless or living rough of which criminals take advantage of such people and from desperation people can turn to crime to make ends meet.
URGC favours strategies that lead to refugees settling back in thier own countries that they came from, however that is not always possible due to on going conflicts and instability. URGC mission is proudly followed by all URGC Ambassadors who aim to increase the life chances of refugees globally and provide long term sustainable economic green solutions that provide housing, schools, health, social and socio-economic development to refugees in resettlement and protection of women and children refugees, and for those that cannot resettle back to their homeland we provide similar solutions that help refugees become self sufficient in housing, education, health and food supply. Reducing refugee numbers via sustainable economic green solutions which provide resettlement programs which can help advise on cutting costs to the hosting governments and aid relief agencies is the only solution to help reduce refugee numbers and to restore independent living to refugees and other displaced people.
URGC united voice echoed from 176 countries can possibly bring about positive change, changes that help increase the life chances and create long term sustainable economic future for refugees that leads them to stable independent living.
We are united in our humanitarian aims, for they are actions which define who we truly are, as individuals, humanitarian unity of URGC aims, and how we wish the world to be, and that is simply for all of humanity to show kindness and compassion that will encourage others to follow suit.
URGC further wishes to establish global URGC Consulates via its Esteemed URGC Ambassadors who will take up the role of URGC President of the URGC Consulate within their region/country. Each URGC Consulate President lobbying for the betterment of humanity and refugees, which will include, the homeless and reducing poverty in general, without any political or religious agenda, within their country and globally.
The way forward is via development of general infrastructure that benefits society with humanitarian purpose, which helps increase life chances, quality of life, creates sustainable jobs, reduces poverty and suffering, and creates social and socio-economic development.
I am proud to serve as Global President of URGC, represented by its Esteemed URGC Ambassadors in 176 countries who provide their own selfless time and professional skills to serve humanity.
I am equally as proud of all URGC Ambassadors who unite together without any religious or political agenda or financial gain, a unity cemented in the united ethos of morality, serving humanity, simply put, to do good, show kindness, compassion and apply a helping hand.
Lastly, I would add that, we all will use the word ''GOD'', at least once a day, so I ask you all, that when you do use the name or word ''GOD'', please STOP, for a few seconds, and remind yourself what that name or word actually represents and what that name or word expects from us, and you will immediately be reminded that it is LOVE, EXPRESS COMPASSION, KINDNESS, TO NOT BE JUDGEMENTAL, TO TRY TO ASSIST THOSE LESS FORTUNATE THAN US, TO ACT AND DO GOOD WITHIN OURSELVES AND WITHIN OUR ACTIONS, and much more, all of these feelings and actions feed our spirit and sole with all that is good and pure, which is a clear indication that what is said here, is right and true, so please be it, and act on it, because it naturally affects all we do in life, and that has a chain reaction on others and creating more good in this world.
An act of kindness and compassion, enriches our lives and those we express it to, and makes our home/this world a better place to live. If something has a price and you cannot afford it, then there is a justifiable reason to not apply it, but when it costs you nothing to show kindness, then there is no justification to not apply it, It cost us nothing at all, to love, show compassion and kindness to others, money is not required for this.
Each URGC Ambassador makes it their goal in their own individual way to apply an act of kindness and compassion each day, no matter how small a gesture, it is understood and appreciated by the receiver. Kindness and compassion is the language which the deaf can hear and the blind can see and all can feel, and no act of kindness and compassion, no matter how small it may be, is ever wasted, and this is the least expected, and applied from any and all URGC Ambassador's.
