URGC Assessment & Approval of projects offered by private organisations to governments and aid relief agencies are offered for the purpose of benefiting refugees/displaced people and the hosting governments and aid relief agencies it is to be proposed to.
The URGC aims to assure that a project which is proposed to a hosting government or aid relief agency by a private organisation for the benefit of displaced people, firstly is founded and formulated on a green approach so that the project benefits the environment and planet, which in turn naturally benefits the service users of the project.
We further assess and determine to see if a project meets the URGC mission and hosting governments and aid relief agency mission and standards.
We strongly believe that every Dollar/$ spent towards helping displaced people should be spent wisely and in a green way.
Every project presented to URGC for assessment and approval must meet the following criteria -
1. Please attach the following policies or their equivalence -
3. Project must show green efficiency in areas of electricity, water, sanitation, cooling, heating, lighting, water recycling
4. Green building materials to be applied following LEED guidelines
5. Consideration must be given to disabled & elderly
6. Environmental benefits
7. Benefit to UN Agency showing cost efficiency
8. Socio-economic benefit to displaced people and to UN Agency
9. Physical & mental health benefit
10. Educational benefits, and Educational benefits to children and adults with learning disabilities
11. Project aimed at construction for displaced people must apply a workforce of a minimum of 90% of the total project workforce which the 90% workforce must be made-up of displaced people, offering employment to displayed people applying a fair pay policy. If this cannot be applied then evident reasons must be attached.
12. A statement expressing the aims of the project, objectives and benefits to displaced people and how it will assist and or benefit the UN Agency. Statement must further include how the project helps to restore human rights, protection of displaced people to and how it helps them develop.
13. Plans and drawings of proposed project to be proposed to UN Agency with list of materials to be used and costings as well as green energy efficiency
14. List of professionals involved in the project, qualifications and duties

ASSESSMENT aims to reach a minimum of 8 out of 10 points for URGC approval to be given.
Approved project proposals which reach a minimum of 10/10 points are considered for URGC Star Rating Award, anything below 10/10 points does not qualify for URGC 7 Star Rating.
